Frank Witchey
Manager, 13u Generals
Coach Witchey has 13 years of coaching experience with high school baseball teams at Langley High School in Virginia and Bishop England High School in South Carolina. Coach Witchey also has two years experience coaching in the South Carolina College summer Baseball league, and 15+ years of coaching experience with travel baseball and little league in the Northern Virginia area. In addition to his baseball coaching experience, Coach Witchey has four years of coaching girls fast pitch softball at the travel level.
Among his many accomplishments on the baseball field coach Witchey has won 4 District Little League championships, many travel baseball and softball tournaments and has had four different teams ranked in the top 10 in the state in travel baseball and softball. In Charleston, while he was a coach at Bishop England High School, the team won three Lower State Championships and two South Carolina State Championships. Most recently Coach Witchey helped the Robinson Junior Varsity Baseball Team to 14-2 record and the Concorde District Championship.
Professionally, Coach Witchey is the owner of Mclean Pool and Spa, a pool service, repair and renovation company the serves Northern Virginia and Potomac, Maryland areas.
Coach Witchey is a graduate of Mclean High School and George Mason University. He has been married to his wife, Debbie, for twenty years and they have a 14 year old daughter “Maddy” who is freshman at McLean High School and plays Field Hockey and softball for the high school and plays elite travel softball for the Vienna Stars. They have a chocolate lab “Cocoa” and a cockapoo “Toby”. Coach Witchey enjoys most sports, reading, the beach, the pool, traveling and hanging out with his daughter.
Scott Tomlinson
Head Assistant Coach, 13u Generals
Coach Tomlinson is entering his second year coaching the Generals and has years of experience coaching in the NVTBL. Scott is entering his eleventh year as an assistant varsity coach at Langley High School. A 1999 graduate of Langley, Scott was a four year player (pitcher/first baseman) under former head baseball coach Chuck Welch. Coach Tomlinson played one year of college baseball at Radford University. Coach Tomlinson, known for his laid-back demeanor and teaching style, is immensely popular with the boys who play for him.
Brian Buscemi
Assistant Coach, 13u Generals
Brian Buscemi will finish high school at James Madison this spring and then head off to college. This season with the Potomac Generals will be his first as an assistant baseball coach. All of Brian’s other baseball experience has been as a player and captain of various teams in the McLean, Great Falls, and Vienna areas.
Brian started his baseball career in Vienna Little League as a 4-time all-star and District Champion in the 2004 10 year-old division. Brian has played on a number of travel teams, including the Potomac Grays 2005-2006 and the Vienna Mustangs 2006-2008. Brian played baseball at Madsion High School as a pitcher and first baseman. We look forward to having Brian on the staff this year as he prepares for college.
